Students of all ages have many opportunities year-round to perform for audiences. Performing is an important aspect of playing music and we prepare students well in advance so they are confident in front of an audience. Every fall, students have the option of participating in a chamber music recital held at Austin Peay University through NFMC and CCMC, two organizations that the studio is a member of. In March, there is an annual Festival in which students take a theory test (for which they are very well prepared) and play for a judge to receive feedback and a score. Those who score in the top category are invited to play in an Honors Recital the following day.We also have two formal recitals a year. One is usually in early December; the other is in May. These are a wonderful chance for students to share the music that they've been studying with audiences of friends and family. These are usually held at Grace Lutheran Church at 2041 Madison Street in Clarksville TN, in their beautiful sanctuary on a grand piano. The studio sometimes also hosts an in-house event where student play for each other (one parent is optional) and we share ideas, play games, and get to know each other more.
